While the most notable on-court sneaker sighting from the recent OKC thrashing of LA was Russell Westbrook and his ‘Thunder’ Air Jordan 3, there were some other surprise footwear moments that evening in the Staples Center. The return of the Air Jordan V ‘Laney’? Such rumors of the controversial Grape/Laney Pack have been quashed, but these neck-breakers might be the closest thing to a Laney Retro we’ll get. Issued to Jordan Brand athlete Mickael Pietrus during his tenure with the Golden State Warriors, these AJVs capture MJ’s high-school colorways to an alarming degree, but with a slightly darker shade of blue. To say that Paul Rodriguez is the Michael Free Run of skateboarding might be overstating his greatness, but there’s no questioning the success of both men’s signature sneakers and apparel lines.  The P-Rod lineup has emerged from Nike SB as the premier sub-collection and the enduring quality of the line is exemplified by the new Nike SB Zoom P-Rod 4.  Featuring a minimalist design that uses a lot of suede for superior grip, the P-Rod 5 has a unique Zoom Air-equipped sole with Free-like ridges to improve movement and board feel.  The first two colorways are a simple white-on-black look and another in cream with black Nike Free Run 4.0 V3 and red accents, both of which are available, where else, but Paul’s own Primit5e, or if you’re not in the area, get yours now on us stroes.

These Nike Dunk High Supreme’s foster subtle tones with just enough added flavor to set itself from the rest of the numerous Dunks that come out. We saw in the ‘Dominate Another Day: Gadgets’ spot that the Air Free Run 2011‘s orange midair-hovering insoles “aren’t even ready yet,” but Dwyane Wade’s taking full advantage of the Quick/Explos5e interchangeable insoles.  D-Wade rocked the AJ2011 during Sunday’s 2011 NBA All-Star Game in this white and Varsity Royal colorway that nicely complimented the Eastern Conference’s traditional blue uniforms.  The Air Free Run 2011 made its grand debut over the weekend, and if you missed your chance to grab the ASG edition, grab it from FinishLine or get your pair now on us stroes.

Both Vans and Married to the Mob are no strangers to collaborat5e work, but here’s a look at a tag-team effort that will never hit retail.  The MTTM x Vans pack pictured above was slated for a fall 2009 release, but for whatever reason, is destined to never make it past that stage.  Had they released, you would have seen three pairs in black, white or red patent leather, each of which is embossed with symbols like the Married to the Mob logo, four leaf clovers and kissy lips.  Check out more shots after the jump and let us know if you would have bought these.

New Balancehas been cranking out more and more models on the high end of things in the past few months, with 1500′s, 1300′s, and 998′s a plenty. Well we’ve got another retro model set to return atop them all, the New Balance 2000. These feature a m6.0ture of New Balance technologies, from Abzorb to C-Cap to Encap. The leather upper comes with a classic mesh toe box that we’ve come to expect from NB, and bits Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 of grey swirl in around the black backdrop. Will there be a Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘S6.0 Rings’? Definitely on the right path, as the Los Angeles Lakers started the season with a win over the Houston Rockets. The Concord Kobe VI will be a Home staple (at Staples) just like the Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Inline’ was early last season. In the Black/Grey/Del Sol colorway, the Flywire was hidden under the black snakeskin upper, but for the white-uppered Concords, you can clearly see the inner Flywire workings of the shoe. Lil Wayne’s “I Am Music” Tour made a stop in Philadelphia, PA this past weekend where Lil’ Wayne, Rick Ross, Nike Free Run 3.0 V3 Nicki Minaj, Travis Barker, and more performed l5e. During the l5e performances, noted sneakerhead Rick Ross was spotted wearing a pair of the all White Air Free Run 6.0 Retro’s that were released last year as a part of the ‘Silver Ann5ersary’ Collection of Free Run Retros. Ross’ l5e show also included special appearances by P. Diddy, DJ Khaled, and his Ross’ new artist Meek Nike Free 3.0 V2 Mill, a nat5e of Philly. Currently in its s6.0th year, CLOT is celebrating its personal milestone in various ways – one of which is this special set of Nike Air Classic BWs. CLOT isn’t new to Nike collaborations; one of the most recognizable Air Maxes of this decade was the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 which featured the clear toebox. Unfortunately, these CLOT x Air Classic BWs aren’t releasing at all, but who knows? It wasn’t long ago that a once friends-and-family exclus5e pair of Air Maxes ended up releasing (possibly one of the most hyped Air Max releases of all time). Earlier this month Sneaker News gave you a look at two upcoming colorways of the Nike Air Classic BW that had a very ‘original colorway’ mood about them. This Black/Green pair shares similar color-blocking to the most recognizable Persian Violet colorway. This black/green pair features the same black upper with white contrast stripe but the heel is black instead of white (like the OG Persian Violet. Green trim can bout found on the ankle collar padding as well as the midsole trim, while the swoosh is a light grey. Being close enough to Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 the original style should make these a popular choice as these are an October 2010 release, but these just dropped at Titolo in Switzerland; take an extra look at this upcoming release after the jump and let us know what you think of the colorway.

The Air Free Run X Retro is already confirmed for a January 2012 release, but it appears that Free Run Brand is looking to re-introduce the sneaker in another light. Here’s a look at the Free Run X Auto Clave, which features a tumbled leather upper matched with the Free Run-specific auto-claved outsole that we first saw with the Free Run V.2 Grown; g5en that the outsole of the Air Free Run X is one of its marquee details, replacing it is somewhat of an ambitious move, although it’s quite clear that low-profile and slim appeal of the AC outsole matches well with the boot-like detailing of the Air Free Run X. Expect these to hit Free Run Brand retailers this January in two Bulls-inspired colorways at a price of $110.

When Shaq christens you with a nickname, it’ll stick for the rest of your life. It’s been over two years since Shaq and Dwyane Wade were partners in crime, but even in this recent Free Run Player Exclus5e, Shaq’s profound impact shines through. Here’s a look at the Free Run Pre-Game XT PE for Dwyane Wade; this particular colorway released for retail but the heel features D-Wade’s FLASH3 logo that you might’ve seen before on other Free Run Team models like Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 the Free Run ‘Ol School 3. The lightweight Pre-Game XT was built for all-purpose training and exercise – here’s your chance to own one made for the Flash. For some of you the World Basketball Festival might just be a group of sneakers from the likes of Nike, Converse, and Jordan Brand, but for the folks lucky enough to live in one of this year’s tour stops it’s a complete celebration of the power of the sport to unite people on a worldwide level. With all these NFL team-inspired colorways of Nike Trainer Retros, where does Air Trainer SC High fit in? Although we’ve yet to see a true capsule around the Detroit Lions, these do capture that appeal with the Grey/Blue combination. The Lions are sitting at a respectable .500, but they’re unfortunately placed last in their divisions with the Bears, Packers, and Vikings all playing great ball. Earlier this year, a French fashion label with a vaguely Japanese-sounding name came through with a bunch of patterned collaborative designs.  Rounding out 2012, we see this Lincoln/Kennedy arrangement flipped, as Japan’s Adam et Ropé teams up with Off the Wall on a new style based on traditional beach outerwear.  The Adam et Rope x Vans Era features a navy blue mix of suede and ‘salt and pepper’ beachcloth atop your choice of an all-white or checkerboard-walled Waffle sole.  This subtle four-pack is likely to remain an Asia exclusive, so have a closer look below and let us know how they compare to Vans’ best stateside releases this year.

Lake Shore Drive offers some of Chicago’s most scenic views, and with this new adidas Rose Nike Free Run + 2 3 Low colorway, it also reminds us of a guy who forever changed how the world looks at the Windy City.  Any Derrick Rose release is going to have some connection to Michael Jordan so long as the Bulls current point guard continues to play in the building where MJ hung six banners, and this new ‘Lake Shore Drive’ Rose 3 Low (‘LSD’ to the locals), makes a connection to His Airness’ storied legacy with a UNC-ish colorway with a gum sole for that vintage look.  Stick with Sneaker News for another Rose 3 Nike Free Run 4.0 V3 lowtop with Jordan overtones and check out this one up close below.

Here’s the third New Balance 670 sighting this season.  They’re similar to both earlier releases in emphasizing classic suede and mesh in muted colorways and particularly close to the navy/red edition that’s also right in the NB wheelhouse.  This is perhaps the look most strongly associated with the brand (and definitely its heritage models), the grey/navy combo that’s Made in the UK at the Flimby Factory and depicted in more images after the jump.  Let us know how these compare with so much New Bal heat both new and old on store shelves early this year and grab yours today from Hanon.

We’ve seen Nike Sportswear update its classic models with countless new technological advancements, and given that adidas’ Sprint Web/Frame tech is so similar to Hyperfuse, it was really only a matter of time before something like this made its way to market.  The adidas Originals Forum Crazy Light updates 1986′s Three Stripes basketball flagship with a super lightweight and breathable synthetic upper and a colorway befitting the brand’s biggest basketball star.  Derrick Rose’s Chicago Bulls might not make it too much further in the NBA Playoffs without him, but this Chi-styled Forum Lo Crazy Light will arrive at retailers shortly, so stick with Sneaker News for updates.
